History

In the beginning… Tom’s love for baking began as a boy in his Newcastle upon Tyne home watching his mother bake for Tom and his two sisters.

 

1988

He studied Baking Technology and Science at Thomas Danby College, Leeds where he won the Tom Chandley Student Baker of the Year Award. After working in France at Maison Blanc, then owned by Renowned Chef Raymond Blanc, Tom joined P&O Cruises, known as Carnival UK, and became Executive Pastry Chef.

2005

In 2005, Tom decided to stay in Southampton and start his own Patisserie business.

2005

Quality Finish Patisserie is born.

2007

Hannah, originally from Australia, joined Quality Finish whilst studying at Richard Taunton College. Now our Sales and Operations Director, Hannah is a key part of the company.

 

2009

We purchased our third van as our customer base grows and our name expands with word of top quality and service.

2010

2010 saw two big new projects onboard for us. We learnt a lot about ourselves and what we were capable of achieving as a team.

 

2010

A young man came to the door hoping to join our team on our journey. He was fresh, positive and ready to become someone special. Lawrence started his apprenticeship with us and studied at City College.

2011

We introduced a new premises in 2011, taking on our second kitchen meant that we could purchase new ovens, mixers and more.

2015

That young apprentice showed great ability and when the opportunity opened for a Head Pastry Chef, Lawrence stepped up to the role.

 

2016

Business is growing and so is the space and equipment needed so we move into a third premises and welcome exciting new kit to work with.

2017

Bringing his charisma and hard working ethic, Igor, originally from Latvia, joins the team as Sous Pastry Chef.

 

2020

Looking forward to new projects.
